Kenya Society of Care leavers (KESCA)
Kenya Society of Care Leavers (KESCA) is a national network led by young people and adults who have experienced life in alternative care. Founded in 2007, KESCA champions the rights and well-being of children in care and those who have left care. Through strong partnerships and advocacy, KESCA challenges perceptions, practices, and policies that perpetuate exclusion. The organization also supports initiatives that strengthen care leavers’ mental health, livelihoods, and mentorship, helping them build resilience and opportunity. For nearly two decades, KESCA has been at the forefront of care reform in Kenya. Working alongside individuals, government, civil society, and international partners, KESCA strives to ensure that every young person leaving care can live with dignity and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
